Book presentation in Mexico

I am happy to announce the presentation of the book “Pasados Queer en Latinoamérica. Historia de las sexualidades en el Siglo XX” (Queer Pasts in Latin America. History of Sexuality in the 20th Century) was edited by Joaquín Insausti. The book is a collection of chapters written by many important colleagues about sexualities in Latin America. I will be one of the presenters in Mexico with Zeb Tortorici and James Green. I wrote a chapter about the travesti political experiences in Pan-American Highway in the 1980s. I focused especially on the Travesti‘s Front. The Travesti‘s Front was one of the first political organizations in Argentina. It protested publicly against police persecution. It also supported sex workers’ rights.

The presentation will take place this Friday, 19 October at 12:30 p.m. CST. It will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel of the IIS-UNAM.
